James Kane
August 26, 1938 — January 23, 2025
James Albert Kane, 86 of Eldersburg, MD passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Born August 26, 1938, the son of the late James and the late Marie Kane. Survived by his wife of 54 years Judy E. Kane (nee Spatafore). In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Kenny Kane & spouse Cassandra, Jimmy Kane & spouse Lisa, Diana Byers & spouse Patrick, Jennifer Green & spouse Jerrod and Dennis Kane & spouse Rachel. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
He was born and raised in Baltimore City in an Irish neighborhood on Homewood Ave, his parents later moved to Woodlawn on Gwynndale Ave.
Jim then attended Mount St. Joseph High School where he graduated from in 1956. After graduation he began working for Baltimore Federal Savings & Loan, in the mailroom eventually working his way to Department head of Commercial and Construction Lending and Appraising.
Jim retired from Baltimore Federal and became a fulltime real Estate appraiser, at 71 Jim retired to his home in Carroll County. He enjoyed working with the Freedom Optimist, was an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast, like trying his luck at the casino, and regularly visiting his favorite local restaurants.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 27, 2025, from 3-5 & 7-9 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Road Sykesville, MD 21784 (beside South Carroll High School), where funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 11 AM.
Interment at Lake View Memorial Park.
