Jane Marie Armfield Haines, age 80, formerly of Westminster, MD, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Bridging Life/Dove House.

Jane was born May 30, 1944, in Mount Airy, MD; the daughter of the late Joseph T. Armfield and the late Mary E. Armfield (nee Conaway).

Jane was the faithful, caring, and loving wife of the late Larry Eugene Haines for 63 years. She was the cherished mother of Garry A. Haines and wife Kelley of Westminster, Kevin E. Haines and wife Sherri of Westminster, Levi T. Haines and wife LeighAnn of Hanover, PA, and the late Matthew K. Haines; dear sister of Patricia Armfield, J. Thomas Armfield, and the late Judy Armfield.

Jane was the compassionate and nurturing grandmother of 10 grandchildren: Garry Allan, Jennifer, Kandice, Colton, Faith, the late Mabel Ruth, Lydia, Olivia, Bella, and Grayson. She adored her 7 great grandchildren: Layla, Weston, Barrett, Aidan, Jackson, Landon, and Gemma.

Jane attended Mount Airy High School, in Mount Airy, MD. As the wife of a Real Estate Owner and Broker of Haines Realty and State Senator, Jane worked tirelessly supporting both his business and political careers including 20 years of campaign dinners and events. Her attention to detail and thoughtfulness made everyone in attendance feel welcome and appreciated.

She was a devoted member of Church of the Open Door in Westminster, MD, for over 40 years, actively participating in various church ministries, including the ladies’ ministry, co-teaching the young married couples’ Sunday School Class, working in the nursery, decorating for events, and anywhere else she was needed.

Jane was an avid scrapbooker and enjoyed genealogy which included extensive research and a book about her extended family.

The beach was one of her favorite places to make memories with her beloved family. Bethany Beach, in particular, was a place where so many fond memories were made--spending days on the beach, strolls on the boardwalk, and dinners together.

She enjoyed tending to her animals at the Haines Ranch and was devoted to her beloved Lady and Ruby.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at Church of the Open Door, 550 Baltimore Blvd., Westminster, MD, 21157 on Thursday, July 18, 2024, from 3:00-5:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM and again on Friday, July 19, 2024, from 10:00-11:00 AM at which time the Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM with Dr. Norris E. Belcher, Jr. officiating.

An interment graveside service will be held after the funeral service for friends and family at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Bethel and Woodbine Roads, Woodbine, MD 21797.
