Jean Donahue

Jean Morrison Donahue, Vice President & co-owner of Industrial Shows of America Inc. until 1998, producer of the International Auto Show and the Chesapeake Bay Boat Show, died Wednesday, December 4 at her Home in Lutherville, MD. The Lutherville resident was 92.
Mrs. Donahue was born in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada, an American born abroad. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1945. She married James Keefe Donahue in 1954. She and worked for the Quaker Oats Company, the Watertown Savings and Loan and the Electronics Corporation of America until 1955.
She and her husband and two daughters relocated to Baltimore, MD in 1974 and opened Industrial Shows of America which produced the Baltimore Industrial Show, the Chesapeake Bay Boat Show, the International Auto Show and 25 other Industrial and Machine Tool shows throughout the United States and Mexico. The company was sold to Penton Media in 1998, at which time it was the largest privately-owned trade show company in the United States.
Mrs. Donahue retired in 1998 and spent her time between her home in Lutherville, MD and Cape Cod. She enjoyed competitive bridge games, belonged to the local garden club and participated in several book clubs.
Mrs. Donahue is survived by her daughter Susan Donahue Cross, her son-in-law Charles E. Cross III and her grandchildren Charles Nicholas Cross and James Colin Cross. Interment will be at a later date in Cape Cod, MA. Online condolence at www.burrier-queen.com
