Joan Marie Baxter Mathews (nee Mann), 76 of Westminster, MD passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, surrounded by her family.
Joan was the beloved wife of the late LeRoy Baxter and the late Nelson Mathews.
She was born April 15, 1947, in Carroll County, MD the daughter of the late Raymond Mann, Sr. and the late Evelyn Grace Mann (nee Martin).
She enjoyed reading, playing games on her iPad, watching her favorite TV shows, hearing about family, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joan was survived by daughters Jacki Birmingham & husband Chuck, and Cindi Aughinbaugh & husband Phil; also survived by her stepdaughters Marcia Young & husband Bill and Joyce Peugh and husband Lloyd; brothers Raymond Mann, Jr. and William Mann and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Leslie Kearney and siblings Charles Mann, Eugene Mann, and Wanda Smith.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 11, 2023, from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Road Sykesville, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School). Where funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at 11 AM.
Interment to follow at Lake View Memorial Park.
