Joan Patricia Pipes (nee Pickett),age 70, of Mt. Airy, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Carroll Hospice-Dove House in Westminster, MD. She was born July 12, 1941 in Woodbine, MD the daughter of the late Mifflin Pickett and the late Edna Green Pickett. She was the wife of the late LeFaine Lee Pipes. She was a physiatrist aide at Springfield State Hospital and a homemaker. She was a Baltimore Orioles Fan. She also worked at Snuffy’s Rawhide. She was the mother of Steven Lee Pipes of Westminster. She was the sister of Joyce Alberta Miller of Woodbine and Don Mitchell Pickett of Woodbine, and Mifflin Arthur Pickett of Westminster. Friends may call at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA on Monday, September 19, 2011 at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. David S. Schafer of St. Benjamin’s Lutheran Church in Westminster, MD. Interment Poplar Springs Cemetery, Poplar Springs, MD.
