John Hidey

John Walter Hidey Sr (Walt)., 87, passed away peacefully at his home in Westminster on September 6, 2016. Born on April 14, 1929 he was a proud farmer, plumber and loved the outdoors and the countryside. A man of faith, Walter proudly served as the superintendent at the Salem United Methodist Church of Hebbville, where he had perfect attendance for over forty years. Above all, Walter loved his wife, his children, his grandchildren, and his friends and family. With his benevolent spirit and amiable character, Walter always put the needs of his loved ones before himself and never stopped giving, expecting nothing in return.



He joins the Lord, as well as his son Rodney who went before him. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ann, his sister, June, his children Jane, Nancy, Judy, John, and Robin and his grandchildren Rachel, Ryan, John, Olivia, Neal, and Gabriel.



A celebration of Walter’s life will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at his home, 3130 Ridge Rd, Westminster, MD from 2:00-4:00pm with memorial services beginning at 4pm.
