John Pickett

John E. Pickett, Jr., age 89, of Carlisle, PA; formerly of Ellenton, FL., and Sykesville, MD, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center in Carlisle, PA.
He was born March 13, 1926 in Catonsville, MD the son of the late John E. Pickett, Sr., and the late Blanche E. Pickett (nee Bidinger).
He was the husband of the late Bessie U. Pickett (nee Wain).
He was an Engineer for Springfield State Hospital for 31 years. He was a member of the Freedom Optimist Club; past-president of Baltimore Ostomy Association and Member of the Elks Club; active Stephen Minister and President of the Resident Council at Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home.
He was the father of Rebecca D. Steigelman, Wain E. Pickett and Cherie U. Strosnider-Seipp.
Also survived by 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Brother of the late Mifflin Pickett.
