He was born on December 16, 1963, in Arlington, VA the son of Daris Purinton and the late Chester C. Rupertus.
John worked as an Electrician for the Electrical Union # 26; he enjoyed playing poker and spending time with his beloved son.
Surviving in addition to his mother, is his son Austin S. Rupertus; siblings Stephanye & husband Jeff Shifflett, Celeste & husband Dan McDonald, Shawn D. Taylor, and Wm C. Taylor, Jr.
