John Howard Serra, Sr., age 80, of Sykesville, died Thursday, August 25, 2022, at his home.
John was born July 24,1942, in Randallstown, MD the son of the late Rudolph M. Serra and the late Winifred B. Serra (nee Tibbals).
He was married to Barbara M. Serra (nee Kramer) for 56 years of Sykesville.
John grew up in Randallstown, MD and then moved to Eldersburg in 1983; graduated from Milford Mill High School; served in the Army National Guard. He was self-employed as an owner of J & B Motors and J & B Construction. He enjoyed working on cars, drag racing, restoring old cars, going to the casino (Blackjack), watching the Washington Nationals, Baltimore Orioles and Ravens games, spending time with family and friends; his passion was for speed. He was a member of Mt. Olive U.M. Church in Randallstown for years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons John and Jackie Serra and James and Laura Serra both of Sykesville; grandsons J. Gunnar Serra and fiancé Noël Talbot; and Colton Serra both of Westminster, MD; a sister Barbara Hammel of Grants Pass, OR; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Barry and Chris Kramer of Frostburg, MD.
Private Service and interment.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
