Joseph R. Halley, age 76, of Winfield, MD, died Friday, May 20, 2016 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, MD.
He was born December 27, 1939 in Philadelphia, PA., the son of the late Joseph R. Halley and the late Gertrude Schnabel Halley.
He was the husband of Lois Halley of Winfield, MD.
He served in the United States Navy; he retired as a Chief Technician at the MD Science Center after 29 years, and was the second person hired on the Planetarium Staff. Joe loved animals, especially birds, crafted jewelry, and enjoyed photography and electronics.
He was the brother of Marilyn Halley and the late Joyce Halley; also survived by 2 nephews and 2 nieces.
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD, 21784, (Beside South Carroll High School) on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 from 4:00-5:00 PM, with a Funeral Service starting at 5:00 PM with Elder Rob Van Ness officiating.
Private Interment.
