Julia L. “Judy” Flowers, 84, of East Earl, died Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Hospice & Community Care, Lancaster, after a brief illness.
Born in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Julia (Barnes) Lightner. She was married 62 years on April 14 to Donald “Richard” Flowers.
Judy was a homemaker and also worked in the family florist business for 40 years. She was also a member of the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church in Randallstown, MD, and St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Terre Hill, PA. Additionally, she was an active duckpin bowler, active square dancer, she loved feeding and care-giving with many people, and she enjoyed playing golf at Piney Branch.
Surviving, in addition to her husband are two children, Donna Lynne, married to Larry Doyle of New Holland, and Larry Flowers of Randallstown, MD; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marge Vaughn of Clearwater, FL.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 27 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, 5115 Old Court Road, Randallstown, MD. Interment will be in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 25 from 7-9 PM at the Eckenroth Home for Funerals, 209 E. Main St., Terre Hill, PA with a prayer service at 8:30 PM.
