June Maring (nee Hidey), 92, of Woodbine, MD passed away January 20, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born June 19, 1931, in Hebbville, MD, the youngest of eight children born to Ray and Emma (nee Clay) Hidey. She was the loving wife of the late Roscoe “Bud” Maring whom she married December 19, 1952, who passed away on February 21, 2009.
June graduated from Catonsville High School. June was raised on the family farm in Hebbville, and continued the farm life when she married Roscoe and moved to their farm in Woodbine. She and her husband were Carroll County School Bus Contractors and involved with 4-H for many years. She was an active member of Taylorsville United Methodist Church. She was a previous member of Carroll County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee and the Woodbine Southern States Women’s Board. She loved sports, especially baseball and the Baltimore Orioles. She loved family gatherings, gardening, flowers, crocheting, traveling, playing cards, and crossword puzzles.
Surviving are children Donald Maring (Terri), Susan Maring, Gary Maring (Sheri) and Linda Maring all of Woodbine, grandchildren Stephanie Brodbeck (John) and Stacie Fogle (Garrett), two great grandchildren, two step great granddaughters and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband she was predeceased by sisters Adelaide and Grace Hidey and brothers, Raymond, Ellsworth, Donald, Charles, and Walter Hidey; and, special family friend, Mark Burall.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 26, 2024, from 3-5 & 7-9 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Road Sykesville, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School).
Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 10:30 AM at Taylorsville United Methodist Church 4356 Ridge Road, Mt. Airy, MD 21771.
Interment at Lake View Memorial Park.
