June Elizabeth Wagner (nee Gartrell), 98, of Mt. Airy MD, Passed peacefully away on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Kline Hospice House.
She was the daughter of the late Mamie Murphy Gartrell and the late Howard G. Gartrell, born on December 2, 1919 in Plane #4, MD. She was the wife of 65 years to the late Hanford I. Wagner, who predeceased her in 2005.
She was a Homemaker and was a lifelong member of Marvin Chapel U.M. Church in Plane#4, and a lifelong Christian who lived the golden rule. She spent her adult life raising her family which continued until her death. If there is a good book to read, a golf match to watch and an O’s game to listen to in Heaven she’ll be content.
She was the mother of and is survived by four children; sons Dennis L. Wagner & wife Helene of Mt. Airy, H. Michael Wagner of Mt. Airy, Bruce Wagner of Baltimore and daughter Marty Wagner of Libertytown.; sister of Dorothy Watkins of Frederick; Loving grandmother to Bronson Wagner, Kellie Storms, Monica Cuddington, Rob Crum and Jami Crum, Also survived by 11 great grandchildren, Amberleigh, Victoria, Lexi, Brianna, Kasey, Brooke, Juliana, Cain, Kayleigh, Bruce, Ciara and great-great-grandmother to Lorelai.
She was preceded in death by her daughter in law Becky Wagner and her sisters Betty Hall and Evelyn Clay, and brother Howard Gartrell.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Marvin Chapel U.M. Church, 5101 Woodville Road, Mt. Airy, MD with the Rev. R. Lorraine Brown and the Rev. L. Ross Kirk officiating.
Interment will follow at Marvin Chapel U.M. Church Cemetery, Mt. Airy, MD.
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield, MD (Beside South Carroll High School) on Tuesday, from 7-9 PM and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00-11:00 AM.
