Kurt Lauritzen

Kurt C. Lauritzen, 59, of Sykesville, MD, died Saturday, November 21, 2009 at the home of his dear friend Judith Nave in Mt. Airy, MD. He was born July 30, 1950 in Prince George’s County, Maryland. He was the son of the late Hermann C. Lauritzen and the late Marguerite (Knight) Lauritzen. He was a self-employed contractor in Carroll County for 39 years. Kurt was an avid horseman and team roper. He enjoyed outdoor cooking for his friends and family. He is survived by son Kjeld Lauritzen and his fiancé Alisha Brown of Owings Mills, MD and son and daughter-in-law, Keir and Catherine Lauritzen of Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by sisters Solveig Smith of Marston, MD and Herdis Moser of Manchester, MD and brother James Reed of Woodbridge, VA. Gathering of family and friends will be held at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Private interment.
