LaRue E. (Day) Schafer, 91 of Randallstown
Died Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Longview Nursing Home.
She is the beloved spouse of Harry J. Schafer, Jr.
Mr. Schafer was born April 6, 1927 in Marriottsville, MD the daughter of the late Lawrence T. Day, Sr. and late Hilda Shipley Day.
Graduated Sykesville High School Class of 1945, married her husband August 18, 1945 at St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Sykesville
She worked as a bookkeeper for the family meat business in Lexington Market for more than forty years.
She also worked as an administrative secretary for Baltimore County for 28 years.
Mrs. Schafer lived for her family, nothing pleased her more than having family dinners and get-togethers where she cooked their favorite foods. Her favorite saying was, “If my family is okay, I’m okay.”
Surviving in addition to her husband are daughter Patricia A. Wall and son Harry J. Schafer, III and wife Lucy, grandchildren Sean C. Wall and wife Anissa; Katherine E Breakey and husband Drew, great-grandchildren Maia and Clayton Breakey and Azure Wall. Preceded in death by brother Lawrence T. Day, Jr.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 29, 2018 9-10 at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, PA. 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 where funeral services will take place 10 am.
