Lawrence Joseph DeLuca, of Mount Airy, MD

He was born August 16, 1948 in Washington, DC and resided in Wheaton, MD until he went into the Airforce. He served his country for four years and was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked at Bell Telephone and then Control Data and Vitro, until he opened his own machine shops in Rockville. He later moved to Mount Airy. Larry worked on many exciting projects such as: Items in the space shuttle and a space craft that flew by Pluto. He also worked along with his father on the World Clock, he additionally completed projects with NASA, Bendex and Johns Hopkins, just to mention a few of his endeavors. Larry had his private piolets license and built and flew his own Ultra lite and was building a plane. Larry was also a past member of experimental Aviation Association and CALF of Capital Area Lite flyers-USVA #4. He was also involved with building and flying drones with his son Joe. Most importantly Larry was a Christian and was a past member of St. Catherine Laboure in Wheaton and Montgomery Community Church. He is a current member of Mount Airy Bible Church for over 30 years. He loved to service the Lord by helping with projects at MABC and enjoyed telling others about Christ.
He is proceeded in death by his parents John and Dorothy (Oshinski) DeLuca, his brothers Mike and Steve DeLuca and his brother and sister-in-law Walter and Pat Wassell.
Surviving are his loving wife Linda Lee (Wiser) and son Joseph DeLuca, nephews Walter and Paul Wassell and their families and also his two distant brothers Edward and Philip DeLuca.
The Family will receive friends Thursday, 6 to 8 PM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Sykesville, MD. Another viewing will be held Sunday, March 21, 2021 from 2-3 PM with funeral service starting at 3 PM at Mount Airy Bible Church, 16700 Old Frederick Rd. Mount Airy, MD 21771. Interment will be private in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD
