Leslie Robert Cook, Sr., age 90 of New Windsor
Passed Saturday, January 16, 2016 at his home in New Windsor.
He was the Loving husband of 69 ½ years to Jean Elizabeth (Deuschle) Cook.
Mr. Cook was the son of the late John Woodruff and Hannah Catherine (Pedersen) Cook.
Mr. Cook is a US Army Veteran that served in WWII and received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He is a member of American Legion Gold Star Post 191, Mt. Airy, MD. Mr. Cook started out with a career in sales working for 3M and various other electronics companies and later switched to landscaping and construction. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mt. Airy, MD. He is a Patriarch of the Frederick, MD Stake and Served as Sealer for Washington DC Temple for many years
Surviving, in addition to his Wife, are Children Leslie R. (Vicki) Cook, Jr, Brian D. (Lauren) Cook, Karen J. (Dave) Haworth, Jeffrey R. (Heidi) Cook. Peter A. (Jennie) Cook, David W. (Mary)Cook, Jean E. (Kerry) Stephenson and Daughter-in-law Brenda K. Cook. Sisters Patricia Beard and Alice Angus. 40 Grandchildren and 52 Great-Grandchildren. Preceded in death by sons Michael E. and Christopher K. Cook.
The Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 from 7 to 9 PM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784. There will be a viewing held Thursday, January 21, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, 7255 Ridge Rd. Mount Airy, MD 21771. from 9:30 AM-10:30AM. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with Interment to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, MD.
