Reverend Leslie (Les) L. Cordonnier died unexpectedly at home on June 3, 2016 in Owings Mills, Maryland at the age of 66.
Les Cordonnier is survived by his wife Teresa Cordonnier; Children- Les J. Cordonnier of Pennsylvania and Julianne Boots of Maryland, daughter-in-law Christina Cordonnier of Pennsylvania; Six Grandchildren, David Seda, Becca Seda, Thomas Seda, Faith Boots, Autumn Cordonnier and Paul Cordonnier. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Cordonnier and Louise Cordonnier of Oklahoma, his father and mother- in- law Raymond and Marion Thornhill of Oklahoma, brother- in -law David Thornhill of Texas, and son- in- law Brian Boots of Maryland.
Les L. Cordonnier was born on December 1, 1949 in Enid, Oklahoma to Louise Rudd. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1972 with a degree in Political Science. Les was President of the Beta Sigma PSI Lutheran Fraternity while he was a student at Oklahoma State University.
He married Teresa Thornhill, his junior high school sweetheart in 1971. The couple later welcomed two beautiful children into their home. His children and grandchildren remember him as being compassionate, gentle, intelligent, humorous and a wise man of God who always encouraged them to pursue their passions and live their lives for Jesus Christ.
In Oklahoma City, Les began working for Ryder Truck Rental as a District Controller. During his 29 years with Ryder Truck Rental he became an accomplished Regional Controller and author of published financial and technical training manuals for the trucking industry. Les was a Reverend in the Southern Baptist Tradition and served as Pastor of Discipleship and Administration, small group leader, and church planter. He was an active member of Faith Family Church in Finksburg, Maryland and was passionate about leading others to a greater understanding of the Bible and how God’s truth applied to their daily lives. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and teacher of God’s Word.
A viewing is scheduled between 6-8pm on Tuesday June 7th at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and services will be conducted at 11am Wednesday June 8th at Faith Family Church in Finksburg, MD; grave side service at Evergreen Memorial Gardens following the service.
