Lillian Viginia “Ginny” Lamb (Harris)
93 years young of Sykesville, MD passed away peacefully in the morning of September 13, 2023, at Carroll Hospital Center. She was born at John Hopkins Hospital on May 14, 1930, to the late Herman Charles Harris and the late Mary Lillian Harris (Grimes)
After graduating from Sykesville High School, she married the love of her life, the late Othie Romaine Lamb (Tommy)
Ginny as her friends and family called her, worked at Springfield Hospital Center for over 30 years, retiring from the House Keeping Dept. all while raising her two children Robin Lamb (Mary) of New Windsor and Kathy Condon (Francis) of Woodbine, MD
After retiring she went on to enjoy playing BINGO, hosting card nights at her home with her cousins (Joanne and Elza ) and friends.
For many years, she organized class reunions as she was great at keeping in touch with people and kept many friendships from her days in school.
Being raised in Sykesville and continuing to live there up until she moved in with her daughter a few years ago. She was a true historian who told amazing and detailed stories of how every corner of that town has changed.
She was a stranger to no one and everywhere she went she was bound to run into someone she knew, or that she knew their family.
Surviving in addition to her children, those left to cherish in her memory are grandchildren Katie Broessel (Justin) of New Windsor, MD, Amanda Cumberland(Travis) of Woodbine, MD and Carrie Condon of Woodbine. Also survived by great-grandchildren Broderick Broessel, Reagan Cumberland and Riley Cumberland
The family will receive friends Monday, September 18, 2023, 11 AM to 12 Noon at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd. Sykesville, MD 21784. All other services are private. Interment Poplar Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Winfield Volunteer Community Fire Department, 1320 West Old Liberty Rd.
