Linda Kay Barnard, 72 of Mt. Airy, MD was born on October 18, 1950, departed this life on July 23, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Linda vowed her life and soul to Christ and was saved at the age of 18 yrs. old at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church. She was a current member of Granite Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mommy-Nellie Goins, Mom-Mollie Goins, and Dad-Clifford Goins; Brother Kyle Goins; and her baby girl. Linda is survived by her husband of 54 years Larry Coleman Barnard. Children Ronnie Barnard & wife Tina of Woodbine, Donnie Barnard & wife Amy of Westminster, Rebecca Barnard of Mt. Airy, Emily Davis & husband David of Westminster, and Jeffrey Barnard of Mt. Airy. 12 grandchildren: Holly, Jordan, McKenzie, Brooke, Madilyn, Cassidy, Darren, Kaylee, Shelby, Ryan, Dustin, Dakota. 6 great grandchildren: Adalyn, Harley, Kayson, Jase, Macie, Blake. Siblings: Brenda Hyatt of North Carolina, Samuel Goins, and wife Patty of Pennsylvania. Upon marriage Linda started her family raising her 5 children and continued care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Linda was also entrusted by many other families to care for their children as a babysitter and second mother, all the while helping run her husband’s electrical business. She then re-entered the workforce as a Night Building Custodial Supervisor with Howard County Public Schools for 21 years. Linda was known as the best MAMAW to a multitude of people.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, July 27, 2023, from 1:00 – 3:00 and 6:00 – 9:00 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, 1212 West Old Liberty Rd., Sykesville. Funeral Friday, July 28, 2023, at 10:00 AM with Rev. Dave Davis, Sr. officiating at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church, 2145 McKendree Rd., West Friendship. Viewing at 9:00 AM prior to service.

Interment Church Cemetery.
