Lionel Fry

Lionel Thomas Fry was born on April 29, 1945 to the late Louise H. Fry and Major H. Fry of Baltimore, MD.
He departed this life on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD.
Tom was a graduate of Woodlawn High School in 1964. Tom also served in the U.S. Navy as a Sea Bee 1963-1973 and received a Purple Heart and a Navy Commendation Metal during his service in the Vietnam War.
Tom also graduated from York Tech in 1997 with A Diploma in the Industrial Automation/Robotics Technology program.
Tom enjoyed spending time with family and friends. In his younger days he was an Assistant Scout Master with Boy Scout Troop 480 in Hebbville, MD.
Tom was a quiet man, but loved a good joke and cooking a pot of soup and his beef barbeque for his beloved annual Christmas tree hunt party.
He leaves to mourn his memory, his loving wife of 47 years Linda and his daughters Beverly D. Beckett of Salisbury, MD and Amanda C. Fry of Betterton, MD; his sister Helen L. Reick (Melvin) of White Hall; brother in law of Pete (Cleo) Garriott of Willow Valley, PA; Shirley (Ted) Utzinger of Catonsville, MD, Wayne Garriott of Westminster, MD and a multitude of family and friends.
A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held at Panther Park in Hampstead, MD on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 1:00 PM-Dusk. Please bring a lawn chair and a side dish; also bring a copy of a picture of Tom to help share memories.
