Lisa C. Atmonavage, beloved mother to two daughters, ages 29 and 37 passed away on December 4, 2024, leaving a void her family cannot fill.

Lisa was born on December 1, 1965, on Joint Base Andrews and lived in Maryland her whole life. Lisa had a wonderful career in Customer Service that spanned decades. She had a passion for people and had an ability to befriend anyone. One of her most joy-filled places she worked was the local Safeway grocery store in Columbia, MD. There she made many lifelong friends with her co-workers and customers alike. She thoroughly enjoyed working with adults with disabilities, helping them maintain a sense of self-worth and independence. No matter where she was, she had the ability to take someone’s bad day and leave them with a smile on their face.

Lisa’s faith in the Lord was strong. Even in times of despair, Lisa would look to the Lord and hand whatever may be the matter, over to him. Even with her cancer diagnosis she knew the Lord was her savior and her faith never wavered for a moment.

Lisa loved all variations of music and enjoyed going to concerts. She made many lifelong friends country line dancing in the early and mid 90’s and was on a competitive team. Later in life, she would volunteer with her youngest daughter Sara at local Christian music concerts with the merchandise team. She loved traveling to eastern shore beaches of Delaware and Maryland and her yearly trip with family to the Outer Banks in North Carolina. She loved to visit her extended family in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Her time spent with her cousins, Terry and Paul, created some of the happiest memories she carried throughout her entire life. Her family was everything to her. She loved being a mother and put that role in life above all else. Her nieces and nephews meant the world to her, and she enjoyed every minute spent with them. No matter how big or small that time might have been, she cherished it deeply. Her role of Gammy to her grandsons was the role of a lifetime to her. The joy that she brought to their lives and what they brought to hers, was magical.

Lisa was preceded in death by her grandparents Annie and Charles Sensabaugh, her mother Pauline Atmonavage, her stepfather Lanny Silcott and life-long best friend Roxane Stidham. Lisa is survived by her two daughters Sara and Amanda (Kevin), her sister Sue (Joe), her brother Billy (Tina), her nieces Katie (Brandon) Savannah and Tiffany and nephews Joey and J.J. and her beloved grandsons Morgan and Bryan.

In lieu of flowers, the family askes for donations to be made to the national MS Society, Frederick Health Hospice or The Bettie Jane Cancer Foundation.

A celebration of life service will be held in January. Details to be announced later.

“Love you all beyond measure” -Lisa Atmonavage
