Lois Chaffman
August 6, 1950 — October 17, 2018
Lois Elaine Barnes, Flickinger, Reese, Chaffman age 68 of Carlisle, Pennsylvania slipped from this earthly life into life eternal on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at the Forest Park Health Care & Rehab Center of cardiac arrest, a complication of acute diabetes.
She was born August 6, 1950 in Frederick County, Frederick, Maryland. She is the daughter of the late Francis H. “Mike” & Edith E. Pickett Barnes.
Lois was a member of Linganore United Methodist Church. She graduated from Linganore High School in June of 1967. Lois loved music which she had a natural talent and was accepted in the High School State and National Vocal Chorus. She enjoyed working with ceramics, creating beautiful pieces of art, and enjoyed cooking and baking. She loved pleasing everyone she met.
Lois was the mother of William Leroy Flickinger & wife Suzan of Richfield, PA., Wesley Howard Flickinger of Silver Spring, MD, Donald Francis Flickinger of Waynesboro, PA and Douglas Brian Chaffman, Jr. of Frederick, MD. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by a beloved aunt Evelyn B. “Becky” Wilhide. She is survived by one sister Nola “Cookie” B. Ramsburg & husband Robert of Walkersville, MD. Also, two nephews: Michael Allen and James Howard Ramsburg and their families, one paternal cousin: Dennis Howard Wilhide of Trevorton, PA & numerous maternal cousins.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11 AM at the Linganore United Methodist Church 8921 Clemsonville Road, Union Bridge (Unionville) MD. With Pastor Stephen Ricketts officiating. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM prior to the service at the church. Private Interment.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations maybe made to the American Diabetes Association 2002 Clipper Park Road, Suite 110, Baltimore, MD 21211.
