Lorraine Fluet
March 27, 1948 — June 20, 2021
Lorraine Merle Fluet (nee Gooley), 73 of New Windsor, MD and formerly of Springfield, VA, passed away on Sunday, June 20. 2021.
She was born March 27, 1948, in Pittsfield, MA, the daughter of the late Walter R. Gooley, Sr. and the late Emma Gooley (nee Dietlin).
She was the beloved wife of Charles Fluet for 53 years.
Lorraine was a faithful disciple of Christ, and she poured her energy into discipling others. Her hunger to know the Word of God led her to complete many Precepts Bible studies, and she later became the leader of her Precepts class at their church in Woodbridge, VA. Prior to that, she and her husband, Charles, were active leaders in the youth ministry at Burke Community Church in Burke, VA. Their love and affection made a lasting impression on many.
Lorraine was blessed with incredible artistic talents. She taught herself cake decorating, stained glass, toll painting, knitting, and sewing (among other things)- pushing herself to excel in each one to the point that she did them professionally. However, she most of all enjoyed teaching her children, grandchildren, friends, and numerous clients how to do what she taught herself to do. Many of her friends and family still have her handiwork in their homes today.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her children Andrew Fluet & wife Nicole and Matthew Fluet & wife Michelle. Also survived by her 6 grandchildren Grant, Boone, Scout, Raine, and Kaylie and Renèe and 2 siblings Walter Gooley, Jr. and sister Andrea Goulet.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Faith Family Church 4150 Sykesville Road Finksburg, MD 21048 with Pastor Paul Andrews officiating the family will receive friends from 10 – 11 Am at which time the funeral service will begin.
Interment to follow at Meadow Branch Cemetery.
