Margaret Founds

Margaret Elizabeth Founds, age 93, of Mt. Airy passed away on December 16, 2019 at the Brinton Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sykesville, MD. Born September 16, 1926 in Bristol, PA she was the wife of the late Leonard Frederick Founds who passed away in July 1986. She was the daughter of the late Robert Guy Smith and Margaret Elizabeth Burgin of Croydon, PA.
Margaret graduated from Bensalem High School in Bensalem, PA in 1944. She subsequently graduated from beauty school and was self-employed as a beautician owning her own shop for many years. Later in life she lived in Manahawkin, NJ and was employed as an insurance agent before finally moving to Mt. Airy, MD where she was employed as a receptionist/technician for local optometrist Dr. Harvey Magaziner.
Margaret was known for being an excellent cook and could often be found in her kitchen cooking for family and friends. In addition, she made her special candy to gift at Christmas time. Late in life she was a painter and creator of many artistic creations.
She is survived by her daughter April and husband Morris (Bud) Carter of Ocean View, Delaware and daughter Linda and husband Ronald Roberts of Manahawkin, New Jersey; grandchildren Kelly, Kristin, Brian and Stephen; and great grandchildren Braelin, Camden, Carter, Andie Rose and Olivia.
Funeral arrangements are private.
