Marianne M. Healey, age 74, of Cooksville, Md., was born on March 23, 1942 in Waterbury, Conn., daughter of late Mary (Mullins) and late William Fitzell. She was a graduate of the University of Connecticut and received her master’s degree in education from Southern Connecticut State University.
She left her teaching career to begin a family. In 1970, she and her husband, David, started Greenway Farms, a greenhouse grower and Christmas tree farm, after moving from Baltimore to a small farm in Howard County.
For many years she and David enjoyed spending their time off in Marshfield, Mass., and Vinalhaven, Maine. They recently celebrated 50 years of marriage.
She is survived by her husband, David; her sons David (and Joanne) Healey of Chesapeake City, Md., Timothy (and Kristen) Healey of Cooksville, and Michael Healey of Cooksville; grandchildren Mary and Aidan Healey of Chesapeake City, and Connor and Rory Healey of Cooksville; brothers Phillip (and Judy) Fitzell of Connecticut, and David Fitzell of Florida and William Fitzell.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD 21784; Funeral Liturgy (Mass) will be held Friday, January 13, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic “OLD CHAPEL” Church, 1125 St. Michaels Road, Mt.
