Marie Akers

Marie “Margo” Rogers Urie Akers, Columbia, MD was born on March 23, 1927 in Cleveland Ohio to the late Jackson and Marie Rogers. She passed away peacefully on July 5, 2022.
She was predeceased by her husbands Joseph P Urie and Robert P Akers, daughter Elizabeth, twin sister Edith, brother Edward, sister Jackie and grandson Danny.
Marie was an LPN and worked many years at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD.
Along with her husband Bob, Marie traveled extensively both domestically and internationally. The two enjoyed antiquing and were always on the lookout for the next great treasure. Marie was an avid quilter and painter and lovingly bestowed many gifts to her family and friends, which they treasure.
She is survived by her daughters Kathy and Diane (David). Sons Jackson (Lisa) and David (Peggy). Grandchildren Christopher, Laura, Caroline, Laura, Matthew, Lisa, Robert, Joseph, Sarah, and Rebecca. 14 Great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be private, and Marie’s final resting place will be in the Akers family plot in Maine.
