Martin Schmitt

Martin A. “Smitty” Schmitt, age 82 of Westminster, formerly of Randallstown, died Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Carroll Hospice-Dove House in Westminster, MD.
He was born July 21, 1930 in Baltimore, MD the son of the late August J. Schmitt and the late Rose L. Schmitt (nee O’hara).
He was the husband of-Margaret C. Schmitt (nee Carter) of Westminster for 56 years.
He was a Retired Police Officer for Baltimore City Police Department for 16 years and was a retired Security Officer for Northwest Hospital in Randallstown for 16 years. He was a member of the Liberty Road Volunteer Fire Department. He served in the US Navy on the USS Midway.
Father of Carol Ann Moore and husband Thomas, Loretta Ann Rothschild and husband Gary, Peggy McGregor and husband Mike, Marty A. Schmitt II and wife Carolyn, Tim F. Schmitt and wife Melissa, and Tina Schmitt all of Westminster.
Brother of- Robert M. Schmitt of Floyd, VA
Also survived by 9 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Wednesday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM; with a Vigil Wake Service at 7:30 PM.
Funeral Liturgy (MASS) will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. John’s Catholic Church, 43 Monroe Street, Westminster, MD 21157 with Fr. Garcia officiating.
Private Interment.
