Mary Ricketts

Mary Jane Ricketts, 96, of Lisbon, MD passed away on Monday, April 29, 2024, at her home.
She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard Leslie Ricketts, who proceeded her on February 28, 2022, and her first husband Vernon E. Blair who passed August 28, 1956.
Mary Jane was born October 9, 1927, in Carroll County, MD. She was the daughter of the late Paul Preston Dayhoff, Sr. and the late Ruth M. Scheller Dayhoff. She was preceded by her two brothers, Paul Preston Dayhoff, Jr. and Carl William Dayhoff.
Over her lifetime Mary Jane held many jobs. She worked for Montgomery Wards, International Harvester, Stem Supply, where she met Leonard. She was a certified nurse’s assistant at Pleasant View Nursing Home. She volunteered at Libson Elementary School and Glenwood Middle School in Howard County, she managed the flower shop at the Weis grocery store in Mt. Airy, until she retired at age 82.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Ricketts and two sons Neal & Brian Blair: a daughter in law Sarah Pritchard and grandchild J.P. Blair
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM from Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Road Sykesville, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School), where funeral service will begin at 11:00AM on Friday, May 3, 2024.
Interment to follow at Taylorsville Cemetery.
