Mary Rimbey

Mary Rebecca Buckman Rimbey,92 of Mount Airy, MD, died Saturday October 1, 2011 at Ridge Overlook in Westminster, MD. She was the wife of the late William L. Rimbey. Mrs. Rimbey was the 4th of 8 children the daughter of the late Charles R. Buckman and late Nora Maybell (Gilbert) Buckman. She was a Cashier and Part owner of Foodland/Foodrite with her Husband, Sister and Brother-in-law. A Member of Mt. Airy Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for over 25 years , A Member of Prospect United Methodist Church and Choir for over 50 years, and a Sunday School Teacher at Prospect U.M. Church; Graduate of Mt. Airy High School in 1936. She was a great Seamstress and Hair Dresser. Surviving her are Sister R. Virginia Linton and Brother Emmette Buckman, Son Robert Rimbey, Sr. of Mt. Airy. Grandchildren: Nora Lee Gochenor, Robert and wife Celeste Rimbey, Jr. Robin and husband Mike Shriner, Gerald Shaw and Joseph Rimbey, Great-Grandchildren: Melanie and husband Bruce Beardsley, Stephen Shriner, Ashley Rimbey, Britny Brashear, Madison Lewis, Conner Shriner, Karleigh Hubble, Makaela Rimbey, Jonathan Shriner, Lucas Rimbey and Jackson Shriner. Great- Great-Granddaughter Cherokee Beardsley. Preceded in death by Daughter and Son-in-law Rebecca and Robert Shaw, Daughter-in-law Barbara Rimbey, Brothers Robert, Ralph and Leo Buckman, Sisters Audrey Gussardo and Elizabeth Harrison. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday October 5, 2011 11:00 AM at Prospect UMC 5923 Woodville Rd. Mt. Airy, MD 21771, with Rev. Ernest Thayil officiating and with Interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd.
