Went Home to be with the Lord and her husband Monday, January 5, 2015 at Lorien Assisted Living in Mt. Airy, MD
She was the spouse of the late Benjamin Franklin Slagle whom she married March 15, 1941 at St. James UMC (her home church) in West Friendship. She was born May 31, 1921 in Belair, MD the daughter of the late George William Hurt and the late Ida Sarah Bailey.
She was a homemaker and worked on the family farm. She is a member of Lisbon UMC and the church’s Ladies Society.
Surviving are Daughter Sarah S. Fitzgerald of Valley Lee, MD Son Paul D and Sharon S. Slagle of Woodbine, Daughter Doris S. Donaldson of Woodbine, Grandchildren Ann Laigle, David Slagle, Michael Donaldson, Jil Howard, Aaron Slagle, Joy Bowes, Carole Donaldson, Also survived by 4 Great-Grandchildren.
The Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 8, 2015 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 11 AM at Lisbon UMC 15875 Frederick Rd. Lisbon, MD 21765 with Interment to follow in McKendree Cemetery.
