Mary Wright Zepp, a retired Koppers Co. factory worker, 93.
Mary Elizabeth Wright Zepp, formerly of Catonsville, a retired Koppers Co. factory worker, died at Lorien Taneytown on Saturday, April 21, 2018. She was 93. She was born on Dec. 27, 1924.
Her late parents were William Earl Wright and Bessie Warfield Grimes Wright. She was a life-long member of the Taylorsville United Methodist Church. Mrs. Zepp attended Mount Airy High School before she moved, around 1950, to the newly developed Academy Heights neighborhood in Catonsville.
Beginning in 1944, during World War II, she worked in the Inspection, Piston Ring & Seal Division of Koppers Co. for 40-1/2 years before she retired January 31, 1985. A small dog named “Henry” was a constant companion for many years.
She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Earl Wright and her adopted brother Martin Grimes Fowler Wright. Mrs. Zepp leaves behind her sister Louise Wright Frock Miller and lifelong friend Kitty Fleming Penn. She was predeceased by her friend Blanche East.
She leaves behind her nephew Kevin Earl Dayhoff and his wife, Caroline Babylon; her niece, Karen Dayhoff Minor, and her husband Steve Minor – all of Westminster, Md.
Her nephew, Tim Frock and his wife Lisa Jollie Frock of Claiborne Md., and their children, Adam Frock; Nick Frock, and his wife, Jessica Cwik Frock, and their children Olivia and Bennett.
Her niece, Tammy Frock Handzo and her husband, Rob Handzo, of Jacksonville, Md., and their children, Ryan, Alexandra, Connor, Colin and his wife Kelly Johnson Handzo.
A service of Thanksgiving for the life of Mary Zepp will be held at Taylorsville United Methodist Church, 4356 Ridge Rd, Mt. Airy, MD 21771 at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28th, 2018 with the Rev. Sherri Comer-Cox officiating. Interment will follow immediately at the Taylorsville Cemetery after the service.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church, immediately before the memorial service on April 28. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Taylorsville United Methodist Church, 4356 Ridge Rd, Mt. Airy, MD 21771.
