Matthew “Matt” Val Peterson, 60 of Middle River, MD and formerly of Sykesville and Owings Mills, MD passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Matt was born February 14, 1963, in Baltimore, MD the son of the late Floyd Peterson, Jr. and the late Lucy Fae Peterson (nee Ray).
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping especially at the Trails End in Chincoteague, VA.
Matt is survived by his daughters Tabitha Shannon and Husband Ryan, Angie Peterson, Brittany Peterson, and Ashley Peterson; grandchildren McKayla Shannon, Ryan Shannon, Jr., and Calvin Davis; siblings Floyd Peterson, III, and Lori Kunkel. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his 3 sisters.
A gathering will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 12 Noon to 2 PM at Elders Baptist Church 1216 Liberty Road Sykesville, MD 21784.
