Maurice Wertz

Maurice E. Wertz, age 87, of New Windsor, died Tuesday April 24, 2007 at Lorien Nursing Home in Taneytown. He was born December 25, 1919 in Baltimore , MD the son of the late Peter Wertz and the late Barbara Wertz (nee Semone). He was a retired Steelworker for Bethlehem Steel. He served during WWII in the Army as a Drill Sergeant He was a former member of Gamber Fire Co. Auxiliary. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Smallwood. He was the husband of the late Anna Louise Wertz (nee Murray ). He was the father of Barbara L. Warner and husband Dan of Woodbine and Carolyn M. Buckley and husband Robert of New Windsor. He was the brother of the late Donald E. and Late Kenneth L. Wertz. Also survived by 4 grandsons and 1 granddaughter and 1 great granddaughter and 1 great grandson. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday April 28, 2007 at 12:00 Noon at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) with the Rev. Kathryn A. Rohrbach of Trinity Lutheran Church in Smallwood officiating. Interment in Salem U.M. Church Cemetery in Westminster , MD. Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA on Saturday from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM at which time service will begin.
