Michael Hamilton, age 65, of Mount Airy, MD, passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, after a tough battle fought with ALS.
He was the devoted husband to his loving wife and soul mate, Amy Hamilton, with whom he was together for 19 years. In addition to his Wife, Amy, he is survived by son, Matt Ritter and wife Jesse Ritter; daughter Kate Mester and husband Jason Mester; son Drew Ritter and wife Ashley Ritter; daughter Lindsey Hamilton and fiancé Joey Kile; daughter Annie Hamilton and significant other Chase Winpigler; son Jake Fisher and wife Brittany Fisher; and son Ben Fisher; grandchildren Ryan, Mason, Mason, Maci, Madison, Ariana, Jackson, Carolina, Jeb, Judson, Beckley, Jesse, Avery, Cora, Harper, and Henry Michael. He is predeceased by grandchildren Ray, Jobe, Bailey, and Judah.
Born November 13, 1959, in Frederick, Maryland, he was the son of Doris Hamilton, and the late Jimmy Hamilton. He was the brother to Connie Stevens and late husband Eddie Stevens; as well as late Brother, Doug Hamilton and wife Sharon Hamilton. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mike devoted 47 years to the site construction industry. After many years of building his career working for Pleasants Construction, he was blessed to realize his dream of owning his own business when he started Hamilton Site Construction in 2014, with his wife, Amy. In addition to hard work, he enjoyed all things outdoors, as long as the sun was shining. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed any time spent together. His walk in life truly gave us all an example of how to live in a way that magnifies the Lord. He gave love, patience, kindness, and dedication that will forever be entwined in all of us. We will forever be grateful for the incredible man that he was.
The service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 10 AM at Mt Airy Bible Church, Mount Airy, MD, where Mike & Amy are members. Immediately following, there will be a graveside service at Tom’s Creek Cemetery at 10917 Taneytown Pk, Emmitsburg, MD 21727.
