Michael Huffman

Michael L. Huffman, 80, of Elkridge, MD passed away on
September 13, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Linda L. Huffman (nee Hughart). Mike was born September 5, 1944, in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, the son of the late Orville Huffman and the late Doris Alberta Huffman (nee Siperko).
Mike was hired by the National Security Agency (NSA) directly from high school and worked as an analyst and manager before retiring in July 2005 after 43 years of service that included two overseas tours to the Republic of Korea. He was awarded the Meritorious Civilian Service Award for his outstanding contributions to NSA’s mission. After retiring from NSA, he worked for Yakabod for seven years as a customer service rep to NSA. He was a member of South Columbia Baptist Church. Mike was an avid Apple Computer fan and became known to many as the MacMan for his knowledge of all things Mac and his ability to fix computers. He enjoyed cars, gardening, bowling and traveling.
Mike was known for his positive attitude despite his many health issues.
He almost always said he was, “fantastico.”
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children from his first marriage Lisa Webber (Dave), Michael Huffman,Jr., Christine Gravel, Eve Hakala-Mole (Kevin) and his daughter from his second marriage, Chan Mee Huffman. Also, survived by 18 grandchildren and his brother, Dennis Huffman. He was predeceased by his sister and one grandchild.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 11 AM to 12 Noon at which time the funeral service will begin at 12 Noon at South Columbia Baptist Church, 8814 Guilford Road, Columbia, MD 21046.
