Michael Edward McGrath, age 70 of Mount Airy, Maryland passed away at Johns Hopkins Hospital on June 27, 2016. He was the son of Edward and Dorothy Swanson McGrath of South Euclid, Ohio.
Michael was a Pharmaceutical Consultant for his own company Michael McGrath Associates LLC since his retirement as Director of Purchasing for Alpharma Pharmaceutical in Baltimore, Maryland. He also worked for Impax Laboratories in Hayward, California and ANI Pharmaceuticals in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Michael and his wife, Betty have enjoyed a great marriage filled with their family, friends, and traveling all over the world, including almost every state in the United States.
Michael leaves behind his wife, Betty Pickard McGrath, Mount Airy, Maryland, two daughters, Leticia Deanene Hendrickson (husband, Charles), Barbourville, Kentucky, Doneka Janeen Lawson, Fairfield, Pennsylvania and his son, James Edward McGrath (wife, Shelli), Williamsburg, Kentucky. He also leaves seven grandchildren, Charles Hendrickson III, Jesi Maria Hendrickson, Barbourville, Kentucky, Katey Michele Lawson, Adelphi, Maryland, Jodi Ann Lawson, Hagerstown, Maryland, Carly Morgan Lawson, Westminster, Maryland, Cassadi Lyn McGrath and Maggi Lyn McGrath, Williamsburg, Kentucky and 3 great-grandchildren, Eden St. Clair Hendrickson, Jet Ramsey and Charles Gabriel Hendrickson, all of Barbourville, Kentucky.
A Celebration of Michael’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 2 pm at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, Winfield, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made to the Johns Hopkins Children Center (in honor of his granddaughter, Carly Morgan Lawson, who will be turning 18 years old on July 22), 1800 Orleans Street, Baltimore, Maryland.
