Mildred “Millie” Edith Dilley, 93, of Oakland, Maryland, and formerly of Winchester, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Lorien in Mt. Airy, Maryland. Born March 3, 1928, in Winchester, Virginia, Millie was the daughter of the late Lloyd Holmes Williams and Etta Shear Williams. She was the wife of the late Glennroot John Dilley.
She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church where she especially enjoyed joining others of the congregation for “Soul Food”.
Millie enjoyed almost every activity. She loved getting together with family and friends whether just a simple meal, a large tailgate spread or a lavish family holiday dinner. She loved to cook, sew and garden. An avid fan of the Mountaineers, she was always cheering in person when she could or by television or radio when she was not able.
Millie is survived by her daughter, Vicki Stokes and husband, Larry of Mt. Airy, Maryland, her granddaughter, Angela Snow and husband, Nicholas of Sparta, New Jersey, her grandson, Todd Stokes and wife, Benita of Potomac, Maryland, and her great-grandchildren, Carson and Kaitlin Stokes.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lloyd Williams, Jr. and Albert Williams and her long time companion, Floyd Van Meter.
All services will be private.
