Midge Sweinhart, 71, (nee Mildred Theresa Dougherty), of Roswell, Georgia died September 25, 2016 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She was best friend and wife to Gary Sweinhart for 49 years.
Midge was a native of Pennsylvania and earned a degree in Physics at Pennsylvania State University. Following a successful career as loving mother to two daughters, she had an equally successful professional career, primarily in the computer/information technology fields. In addition to enjoying travel, her hobbies centered on home craft projects. She loved making things for the home and for others via the sewing and knitting medium. She fought a very courageous struggle against her disease of the last seven years and did so with the same dedication and vigor as she did in all other phases of her life.
She is survived by her sister, Johanna Mulholland of Levittown, Pennsylvania; two daughers, Jennifer Sweinhart of Lewis Center, Ohio and Amanda Testerman of Eldersburg, Maryland; and four grand daughters who will all miss their “Gamma”.
Private funeral services will be held at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home.
Gifts in Midge’s memory, if desired, may be made to support Cancer Immunotherapy Research at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center https://secure.jhu.edu/form/kimmel or to P.O. Box 17029, Baltimore, MD 21297-1029; or any other cancer organization whose goal is to defeat this disease.
