Neil R. DeFrancesco, age 71, of Mt. Airy Maryland, passed away in his home with his family on July 1, 2023. Neil was the husband of Therese DeFrancesco. Neil was born on June 28, 1952 to Angie and Vincent T. DeFrancesco, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. As a young man, Neil dedicated many hours working with his father and his family in their family restaurant. Neil studied at Salem College in West Virginia where he was an active member of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity.
After college, Neil established his career in the steel joist and decking business. His hard work and perseverance prospered into owning his own businesses as he became extremely skilled in his field and in the sales industry. Neil’s active lifestyle kept him extraordinarily healthy, strong and constructive, both mentally and physically throughout his entire life. He could be found outside or in his workshop, unceasingly and joyfully working to improve his home and landscaping. He took great pride in achieving one of his ultimate life goals, taking ownership of a waterfront home where he was able to spend time in his element resuming his home and garden projects by the water, and spending time with friends and family. Neil had a revered ability to see the good in just about any situation. His caring, confident, magnetic character and sense of humor will truly be missed by so many.
Neil is survived by his wife Theresa DeFrancesco, his son Vincent J. DeFrancesco, his daughter Nicole M. DeFrancesco, two step daughters Amy Chandler and Sara Jackson, his two brothers Glenn and Chris DeFrancesco and his six 6 grandchildren.
Neil’s family will hold a small private service in remembrance of Neil.
