Norman “Vic” Vicarini, 80, of Winfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 19, 2015 after a brief illness. Born May 4, 1935, he was the son of the late Louis and Lillian Handloser Vicarini. The loving husband of Doris Groft Vicarini, his wife of 33 years.
He was an avid sports fan, loved going to the horse races. Spending time at his Fenwick Island home and enjoyed the time he shared with his family and friends. He was the original owner of V’Tees in Reisterstown. He joined the Army in 1955; he served in Korean War and had an honorable discharge in 1958. After his discharges he became an active member of the VFW. In 1979-1980 he served as State Commander and following that he served as National Council Member for the States of Maryland and Rhode Island, He was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by sons Dale, Louis and Vincent and step children Butch and Krista Groft and Bobby and Susan Groft; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, nephew Robert Vicarini; sister in laws Patricia Lentzner, and Darlene & husband Joe Calabrese and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother Robert, sister in law Ilene and brother in law Donald Lentzner.
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM; where Funeral Service will be Friday, October 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM. Interment Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to Winfield or Arcadia Vol. Fire Dept.
