Oliver Davis

Oliver H. Davis, Jr., age 81, of Mount Airy, Maryland passed away on Monday, November 13, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
Oliver was born May 9, 1942, in Frederick, Maryland. The son of the late Oliver Herman Davis, Sr., and Ruth Davis.
Oliver was a life-long Mount Airy resident. He worked for his father at his Texaco Station on Twin Arch Road as a teenager. In 1982 he opened his own auto mechanic business at his residence, Oliver Davis Auto and Truck Repair. He was known for his work on large military vehicles.
Being a town business owner allowed him to be more involved in the town, serving as administrator of the Sanitation Department, Planning and Zoning Department and serving as Zoning Administrator. He was Town Council Secretary from 1988-1994. After serving on the Town Council, he was appointed to the Planning Commission and the Board of Appeals.
Oliver is survived by his wife of 58 years, Yvonne (Robertson) Davis and their two sons, Scott O. Davis, and Bryan W. Davis, as well as three granddaughters. He also has two sons from a previous marriage, Jeff, and John and one grandson.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 19, 2023, from 1:00PM-4:00PM with a small service at 3:00PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home, 1212 West Liberty Road, Winfield Maryland, 21784.
