Paul Joseph Klausmeyer, age 49, of Woodbine, died Tuesday, January 22, 2013.
He was born in Baltimore, MD on October 20, 1963 the son of the late John Milton Klausmeyer and the late Mary Getty Klausmeyer.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Jennifer Guseman Klausmeyer, and his daughters Eleanor and Rosemary Klausmeyer. He also leaves a sister, Lisa Klausmeyer Hughes and husband Dr. William Hughes and family, and a brother, Stephen Klausmeyer and family, as well as best friends Steve Kudrick and Dean Dillman.
Paul earned a B.S. in biochemistry from U.M.B.C., an M.S. in chemistry from the University of MD., and an M.S. in Environmental Science from Hood College. He had also attended Johns Hopkins University for one year. He worked as a natural products chemist for SAIC at NCI in Frederick. In addition to being a loving husband and father, Paul had many interests. He was an athlete who liked to hike, canoe, and ride his mountain bike. He was a musician and composer who played three instruments. He loved the outdoors, especially his Woodbine farm. He was a conservationist responsible for planting hundreds of trees in his lifetime. He loved woodworking and working on cars. For many years, Paul was a parent volunteer at Winfield Elementary and a longtime volunteer with Winfield Rec. Council’s youth soccer program.
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Ebenezer U.M. Church, 4901 Woodbine Road, Sykesville with Rev. Judy Emerson officiating.
Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.
