Pearl Marie (Hood) Robertson, age 91 of Mount Airy, Maryland passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 20, 2015 at Homewood at Plum Creek Nursing Home in Hanover, PA after a battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born September 6, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Howard Hamilton Hood and the late Goldie (Harry) Hood of Mount Airy. She was the wife of the late Wesley Poole Robertson of Mount Airy for 44 years. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Ruth Hood of Mount Airy, brothers Howard W. Hood of Mount Airy and Oliver Hood of Frederick, MD, son and daughter-in-law Darryl and Gloria Robertson of Frederick, and son-in-law Charles L. Parker of Mount Airy.
Marie was raised on Carroll Ave. in Mount Airy and then lived in Baltimore for sixteen years. She and her husband moved back to Mount Airy and finished raising their five children where she retired from Farmers and Mechanics Bank. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and always put her family first. Marie loved to crochet, garden, travel, and after retirement she enjoyed spending time with the elderly. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church of Mount Airy.
Surviving is her sister Virginia Hood of Mount Airy; and her children – Yvonne (Roni) Davis and husband Oliver of Mount Airy, Allan Robertson and wife Carol Ann of Frederick, Debbie Parker Brennan and husband Kevin of Mount Airy, and Lisa Ernst and husband Greg of Hanover, PA; grandchildren - Scott Davis, Bryan Davis, Tara Tucker, Shannon Robertson, Kristen Ernst-Brown, Jason Parker, Megan Parker and Michelle Ernst; great-grandchildren - Emily Tucker, Alexandra Renard, Millie and Rylee Dillinger-Davis.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., and the funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 West Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD, 21784, and online condolences to www.burrier-queen.com
Interment Stone Chapel Cemetery, New Windsor, MD.
