He was born September 14, 1937 in Rogersville, TN the son of the late James W. Mitchell and Beadie F. (Chaney) Mitchell.
Rev. Mitchell was a Southern Baptist minister for over 58 years.
Surviving him are 4 daughters, 3 son-in-laws, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren on the way. Also survived by numerous other relatives.
Interment will be PRIVATE.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
