Robert Anderson

Robert Douglas Anderson, Sr., age 92, of Sykesville, died Saturday April 21, 2012 at Seasons Hospice in Randallstown, MD. He was born December 10, 1919 in Petersburg, VA, the son of the late Roy Richard and late Mabel Anderson. He was a garage superintendent for Greenspring Dairy, He was a veteran of the US Army WWII, Member of Elders Baptist Church in Eldersburg, Member of Thunderbird Twirlers and Four County Square Dance, liked to fly as Licensed Pilot and enjoyed woodwork and metal work. Husband of Dorothy May (Dodd) Anderson of Sykesville, married for 73 years. Father of Sandra J. and husband Bill Derr of Taneytown, Judith C. and husband Roy Block of San Antonio, TX, Robert D. Anderson, Jr. and wife Joyce of Westminster, and Donna Franklin of Sykesville and son in law Donnie Franklin. Brother of Charlotte Young of Friendship, TN. Also survived by son in law Donnie Franklin, 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Predeceased by sister Mary Virginia Hall and 3 brothers Roy W., Thomas W., and Charles R. Anderson. Funeral Service will be held at Elders Baptist Church, 1216 Liberty Road, Sykesville on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jim Edmonson officiating. Interment at a Later Date. Friends may call at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA, 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Winfield (Beside South Carroll High School) on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
