Robert Burgess

Mr. Robert Eugene Burgess, 78, of Orrtanna PA. formerly of Mt. Airy, MD, went home to be with the Lord Saturday December 11, 2010 at his daughter’s home in Frederick MD. He was born June 1, 1932 in New Market, MD the son of the late Charles Thurman Burgess and Lyda Ann Kelly Burgess. He was the husband of Dorothy May Snyder Burgess his wife of more then 57 years. He retired from NIH in 1975, he received several awards for his work as an employee and civil servant . He served as a Deacon at Mt. Airy Full Gospel Church for 5 years and was a Bus driver for Carroll County Public Schools for 11 years. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his wife are Daughters Linda and Husband Kenneth Disque of Orrtanna, PA and Deborah and David Fox of Frederick, MD 3 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren and a Brother James Burgess of Baltimore, MD He is preceded in death by two sisters E. Marie Palmer, Helen June Wiles and three Brothers Harold T. Burgess, Frederick W. Burgess and C. Gary Burgess. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday December 16, 2010 11 AM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home and Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784 Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Sykesville, MD The family will receive friends on Wednesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Funeral Home.
