Robert Ernest Denton, Sr., age 89, of York, PA., died on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at his home.
He was born May 22, 1932, in Shelby, North Carolina, the son of the late William John Denton and the late Nancy Gertrude Denton (nee Henry).
He was the husband of the late Myrtle I. Denton (nee Douglas), who passed away on July 27, 2019.
Robert was employed by Mercy Hospital, was a Special Policeman; served in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division, from July 19, 1949, to October 19, 1951, He was an avid Baltimore Colts, Baltimore Ravens, and Baltimore Oriole’s fan; also loved fishing, boating and traveling in his RV through the country.
Surviving are his children; Nancy Mays (Andrew), Deborah Glass, Robert E. Denton, Jr. (Kathy), Roland D. Denton (Michele) and Tammy D. Althoff (James); grandchildren: Abby, Julie (Matt), Brian, Laura (Phil), Amanda (Brad), Ryan (Tamara), James and Justin; great grandchildren: Ava, Brooke, Alice, Veronica, Blaire, Meredith, and Anthony; pre-deceased by son in law George Glass.
Friends may call at the Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD 21784 (Beside South Carroll High School) on Thursday, October 28, 2021, from 10:00AM-12:00 Noon; at which time Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home; with Pastor Bob Tousey officiating.
Interment with Military honors will be at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, Owings Mills, MD.
