Robert Walton Johnson, “Mr. J”, age 84, of Westminster, died Monday, March 28, 2016 at Carroll Hospice, Inc.,-Dove House in Westminster, MD.
He was born October 27, 1931 in Belle Center, Logan County, Ohio, the son of the late Alfred Walton Johnson and the late Audrey Mathilda Sickles Johnson.
He served in the US Army from 1953-1956. He was a teacher at Gaithersburg High School for 27 years; volunteer at Carroll Community Television, was a Private Pilot and a member of the EAA and AOPA.
Surviving are children; Laurel Johnson (Rob), Leigh Johnson (Barry), Douglas Johnson (Sherri); longtime companion Sallie Mallick and her children; Lee Mallick (Lyn), Marnie Spertzel (Rob) and Clark Mallick (Meredith); 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Gathering of family and friends will be held at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, PA., 1212 W. Old Liberty Road, Sykesville (Beside South Carroll High School) on Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 3:00-5:00PM; Private interment.
