Robert Gustave Krop age 95 of Rockville, MD died December 3, 2021, peacefully and surrounded by family. He was the son of the late Arthur W. and Alvena Krop and brother of the late Arthur W. Krop, Jr. Surviving are his 6 children, Barbara Crowl and husband Gary, Diane Wilder and husband James, John Krop and wife Diana, Carolyn Freas and husband Richard, Robert W. Krop and wife Wendy, Richard Krop and wife Tyleen; fifteen grandchildren and twenty two great grandchildren.

Bob was born in Gallitzin, PA. He moved to Washington D.C. at an early age where he attended school and graduated from McKinley Tech High School. After high school, he joined the United States Navy and in 1946 married Ann Schraeger. He worked for Harry Diamond Laboratories as a Machinist and Equipment Specialist for 35 years. Bob was an avid softball player and played on many championship teams as a pitcher. In 2010 he was inducted into the Greater Washington Fastpitch Softball Hall of Fame.

Bob spent his retirement years in Maryland and Florida playing tennis, golf and enjoying life with his partner, Elna Fern. He loved spending time with his family and friends and never met a stranger. He also loved animals almost as much as people and will always be remembered as a kind, loving, generous man who found his way into the hearts of many.
